Christina Kovacs, MD
Program Director
Dr. Kovacs took over as the program director in May 2020. She is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with additional fellowship training in both cytopathology and head and neck pathology. She completed her residency training and fellowships at Jackson Memorial Hospital/UM. She has published in pathology journals and authored book chapters. She has presented at regional and national meetings on head and neck pathology.
Renu Khode, MD
Associate Program Director
Dr. Khode is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with additional fellowship training in both cytopathology and surgical pathology. She completed her entire training at Baylor Scott and White Health, Texas. She served in private practice for many years.
Jeffrey Aufman, MD
Dr. Aufman joined Integrated Regional Laboratories Pathology Services Pathology in November 2017 after working as an assistant professor at Louisiana State University Health – Shreveport where he finished his fellowship training in medical renal and genitourinary. Dr. Aufman is originally from Houston, Texas and earned his medical degree from Ross University with high honors.
Following a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at University of South Florida, he completed a cytology fellowship at Louisiana State University Health – Shreveport and is now board certified in three areas. Dr. Aufman has 8 years of working in the pathology laboratory and enjoys teaching medical students, residents and fellows while doing advanced research in stem cell therapy. Dr. Aufman has written two book chapters and seven peer review manuscripts and continues to advance the research in medical renal pathology.
Zhongbo Jin, MD
Dr. Zhongbo Jin is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with additional fellowship training in Surgical Pathology (with focus of Gastrointestinal Pathology and Liver Pathology). She completed her residency training and Fellowship at University of Florida. She has published several peer-reviewed articles in pathology journals. Her publications have been presented at multiple regional and national meetings.
Shreyash Pandya, MD
Dr. Pandya is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology with specialized training in hematopathology. Completed pathologic residency training at Ascension St. John Hospital in Detroit Michigan, and Hematopathology training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak Michigan. Before joining HCA in 2015, he worked at ProMedica health system based in Toledo Ohio and Southeast Michigan for 14 years. Dr. Pandya affiliated with several HCA facilities and providing excellent service in hematopathology in addition to anatomic pathology. Currently working as Medical Director for the core market lab in west Florida Division and Northside Hospital in St. Pete.
